GRTC Pulse Transit – Richmond, VA

Decorative pattern cut laminated panels

Decorative

Digital artwork and glass fabrication expertise combine to create an artistic landscape for Richmond, VA’s GRTC Pulse Transit Stations.

Matching approved sample colors, SBG collaborated with the architecture team to prepare the graphics and ensure the desired finished aesthetic when printed upon this specific glass makeup.  These panels are pattern cut into precise triangular pieces with no 90-degree angles, creating a challenge to ensure that the digital printing is perfectly aligned between panels.  The makeup for these panels is 2x layers 1/4″ Low Iron, laminated together with .050 Polyurethane PE-399.  Each panel has 8 holes, and then all panels were laminated and tempered.

SBG fabricated roughly 510 pieces of decorative glass for this project.
